Well, first of all, we'll start off with this yo T we've got some years back, but this was and by the way, I didn't brain than these were. I had these professionally done, but I really we didn't get our ass kicked on the price at all and they've actually proven useful. You see my shot there, that's why I'm made sure the guy did the face and everything with the nose, but uh use that for a lot of things you make a broom of a hat would be really good out of that nice and warm, and that Yoda pail, I can't find the out of help anywhere, but the Yoda pail is it's like. It is just so soft, there's very comfortable material to work with as far as a bedding, material or excuse me an insulated material. Then we move on here to this.
This one right here got split and it was you know, really crappy rack anyway, but it really it was a spike, but it was really straight. I want to make a handle for it out of something. So I preserve that this right here is just some. You know some raised rabbit. You know we didn't hunt that one thought it was just playing and we had the taxidermists do it, but on the inside, it has a feel of supple leather and really it's actually more of a suede and yeah.
There's my tag spike for a few years back, and this was one I can't tell which one belongs to that spike, but uh that you know the one of the wealth surround us is, you know I have utilized resources and utilizing every part of your animal is Probably something every kind of should practice, but this whitetail, I can't remember, which year back I got him in, but uh I'll show. You, though, there's the exit that was the entry wound right there, and that was the exit side thing I hit him Louis took out all the organs hard everything got them on the spot.
It was a real, proud moment, but, as you can see, this thing is like a suede jacket on the underside of it, the guy processed. It really well, and you know it's got nicks on it and stuff from you know where I was skinning it and you know there nobody's perfect and you do want to have a really good knife, a sharp knife, and a partner, because I tried to do it myself and that's how I got a couple nicks on it, but it held up under all the machines and stuff and what they do is they I mean some of it, you know is good. You lose some of it in a process like that, but the value of a good buckskin.
It's like thick suede with about an I don't know, I'm about a half inch because this is its winter coat. We've got about a half inch of fur. On the other side of it, and have it specifically done like this buckskins make some of the best blankets you have ever seen hell I'll, take a buckskin over a wool blanket any day. If I could make a, I have two of them actually on hand and I'm thinking about making a buckskin blanket with it just sewing. You know the two sides together because a buckskin blanket I'll tell you-you can I mean you can make a shelter out of it.
It's almost waterproof if it's drizzling it just beads up on the skin, the ferns a lot of its properties, including insulation. I mean I was actually all. Last year I was able to sleep with only like really thin blanket on my bed and this buckskin over me. I just curl up every night and just even having some of my extremities exposed. My main core retained enough temperature to really not expend enough energy, and you sleep actually quite comfortably under buckskin a lot of times.
