About blankets and all the different kinds of blankets for the different temperatures, and also for your horse's body shapes I'm also going to be talking about my current favorite blanket and like why I love it. Let's get started so first, I'm gonna be talking about like the basic blankets and what you should have like in your collection, because I feel, like blankets, are a necessity for certain environments.
These blankets aren't like in order it's just from what's coming to my mind. First, first one is a fly sheet and I feel like if you're an environment that you know doesn't have a lot of bugs and you're crying. But if you are in one that has lots of bugs like in the summer, there are crazy bugs in my barn and your horses is just like stomping and swishing those hay like 24/7. Why she is like a must need. Is that word the next blanket is a range sheet kind of thing where it's like. It's not gonna make your horse warm.
It's just like a waterproof sheet, and this is really helpful for obviously when it rains and also you can layer these, if, like your winter's, don't get super cold but cold enough. This is a good layering for like the outside layer, so, like rain, stuff doesn't get them cold and you could like put some kind of like liner underneath it. The third one would be like a cooler, so these are really helpful in the wintertime, especially if your horse is like working really hard and sweating and then it's cold outside and you need to like. You know they can't just go from really really sweaty to freezing their butts off. So if you put this on right after you ride, it will help regulate your temperature and, like soak up the sweat faster last one and the most important one for where I live, because it's cold.
This is a winter coat, winter blanket there are different kinds of weights and it's like how much filling is in it. So, as you know, if you're, where you live, it's really cold, you're gonna want a heavyweight one and the medium wave on it only gets to like 40 degrees. Let's get into the fitting. So in the front of your blanket like raiding their chests. There are front clips and you want to make sure that those line up with a pointed shoulder so that you can adjust it according to how much their shoulder is like protruding, and that will help to make sure that it is not going to rub on their Shoulder because that is probably the most common, miss ping said a word.
I don't know of like a blanket. If you, you know, are trying out a blanket and it starts to rub. I would honestly return it and get a different one, because it's so uncomfortable for your horse and like it's really difficult to like deal with because it's only going to get worse once it rubs off their hair and it just it's not a pretty sight.
